This Christmas I got an excellent gift from boyfriend that has proved to be both surprising, educating and challenging. That’s right, he got me “Mastering the Art of French Cooking” by Julia Child. This thick cookbook, filled with no images and lots of steps, has both challenged by cooking skills and also given me some of the best meals and desserts that I have made. I particularly love the Creme Patissiere (Custard Filling), which is so delightful you’ll never want to have pudding again. I will be adding this recipe soon!
I hope you all enjoy the video below from Julia Child. Julia Child was a 60’s TV personality that showed french cooking to Americans using humor, an amusing accent and her love for cooking. I also like how she shows that it’s okay to make mistakes, just pick up and go on with the meal! See how she shows a simple method to cook an omelette below.
